How to Specify User Friendly Names

When a chargepoint is added it can be recognized by its communication ID. This ID can be confusing to remember when the grid is growing. Assigning user friendly names makes it easier to identify stations, energy meters, and grids.

Chargepoints

  1. Click the station in "Live View"
  2. Select the Settings button
  3. Enter a custom name in the "UserIdentifier" field
  4. Press "Save"

Energy Meters

The process mirrors the chargepoints approach — use the same "UserIdentifier" field in the energy meter settings.

Grids

  1. Click the Grid in "Live View" → "Detailed Graphs" OR access the "Grid configuration tab"
  2. Select the "Grid config" tab
  3. Modify the "Grid Identifier" field
  4. Press "Update without restart"
