How to Install Edge – Physical Installation
Connect your chargepoints, Edge controller, and network following these steps. This example covers 4 chargepoints on a 40A grid connection, where each chargepoint can use up to 10A without load balancing.
Step 1: Connect Chargepoints to Ethernet Switch
Connect all chargepoints via Ethernet to a single switch. This switch may be part of existing infrastructure or a new standalone unit.
Step 2: Place Edge and Connect to Network
Position the Edge indoors near the energy meter with network access. It requires power from a 12VDC 2A Din-rail power supply or a DC connector with an adapter. Connect it to the switch using an RJ45 Ethernet cable.
Step 3: Connect Edge to Internet
Ensure Edge has internet access via a GSM router or existing network infrastructure.

The Edge is mounted on a din-rail along with a power supply and a GSM modem. The energymeter and switch are mounted outside of the frame.
